31 December: A man, who had been surviving at the border in Calais for many
years, died of a heart attack due to hypothermia
He was buried in the Cimetière Sud in Calais on 16/01/2026.
25 November: A man is found dead on the beach

28 September: A Sudanese man, Mohamed Mustafa Hamed, dies off the coast of
the Ecault beach
He was buried on 9th October 2025, at the cemetery of Fâches near Lille.
27 September: An Ethiopian man is found drowned in a canal
in
Gravelines. He was buried on the 29th November 2025 in Grande-Synthe.
27 September: Two Somali women die as they set off in a small boat
from
the beach in Neufchâtel-Hardelot. One of them was buried in the Sud
cemetery in Lille on 29 October 2025, and the second was repatriated to
Somalia the same day.
19 September: The body of an 18-year-old Sudanese man was found in the port
of Dunkirk

He was buried in Teteghem cemetery on 23 October 2025.
17 September: A young Guinean man, Mamadou Garanké Diallo, was found dead
near the Loon-Plage camp
near
an exit on the A16 motorway. He was repatriated to his native village in
Guinea on 28 October 2025. In a separate accident nearby, another person
was seriously injured after being hit by a lorry.
9 September: Two Vietnamese nationals and a 16-year-old Egyptian died when
they were crushed while attempting to cross
to
the UK by boat
off
the coast of Boulogne-sur-Mer. The two Vietnamese were repatriated on 30
September 2025, and the Egyptian on 5 November. One to three other people
are still missing at sea.

17 August: An Ethiopian man was found dead by hanging in the
Loon-Plage
camp. He was repatriated to Ethiopia.
15 August: Aldrop, a 41-year-old Sudanese man, was found dead in the canal
opposite
the Calais bus station. He had been living in the area for at least 7
years. He was buried in the cimetière Nord in Calais on 13th September 2025.
12 August: A 27-year-old Somali woman drowned while trying to board a small
boat
off
the coast of Malo-les-Bains, Dunkirk.
27 July: A 32-year-old Kurdish man is shot dead in a shooting
in
the camp in Loon-Plage. He was repatriated.
26 July: A 38-year-old Somali man dies off the coast of Equihen-Plage
in
an attempted crossing to the UK.
15 July: Saeed Ibrahim Ali Saadon, a 23-year-old Sudanese man, dies after
falling from a lorry in Transmarck
He was buried in the Calais Nord cemetery on 30/08/25.
15 June: A 39-year-old Kurdish man id shot dead near Loon-Plage
A second person, a 27-year-old Kurd, id seriously injured and died in
hospital in Lille as a result of his injuries.
14 June: A Sudanese man is shot dead near Loon-Plage
He id buried in Grande-Synthe cemetery on 21 August 2025. 5 other people
are injured.
21 May: A mother and her son (who was about 8 years old), both Turkish, die
off the coast of Gravelines
during
an attempted crossing to the UK. They were repatriated. 10 other people are
rescued and taken back to France. The rest of the boat continued its course
to the UK.
19 May: A 31-year-old Eritrean man is found dead off the coast of
Boulogne-sur-Mer
while
attempting to cross to the United Kingdom. His body was repatriated to
Eritrea and buried on 30/08/25. A Somali man is still missing. 59 other
people are rescued.
13 May: Ahmed Hummed Nafi, an Eritrean man, dies after being hit by a truck
in
Marck. He was buried on 26/05/25 in the Cimetière Sud in Calais.
12 May: Yasin, a 29-year-old Ethiopian man, dies off the coast of Hardelot
in
an attempted crossing to the UK. His body is repatriated to Ethiopia. 66
other people are rescued.
18 April: An Iraqi man from Karbala dies onboard a boat attempting to cross
to the UK https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5y499lyydgo, in British
waters. He has been buried.
11 April: A 55-year-old Somali woman is found dead in the Loon-Plage camp
near
Grande-Synthe. She was repatriated to Mogadishu in Somalia on 25 April.
24 March: An Eritrean woman is found dead on the beach at Marck
while attempting to cross the sea to the United Kingdom. Before her family
could be found, she was buried anonymously by the authorities in Marck
cemetery on 04/04/25.
21 March: An Ethiopian man, Abbas, is found dead by suicide in the Châtelet
dunes
in
Tardinghen. He was buried on 04/09/25.
20 March: A 31-year-old Turkish man dies off the coast of Gravelines
after falling into the water during an attempted crossing to the United
Kingdom. He was repatriated to Turkey.
19 March: A Somali man dies off the coast of Equihen-Plage
after falling into the water during an attempt to cross to the United
Kingdom.
8 March: A 64-year-old Iraqi man dies onboard a boat attempting a crossing
to the UK
off the coast of the beach of les Hemmes de Marck. He was repatriated to
Iraq.
15 February: A 27-year-old man dies during an attempt to cross the Channel, off
the coast of Calais
He is repatriated to Tigre.
9 February: Two Afghan men are found dead on the Terminus beach in Berck
after having attempted to cross to the United Kingdom. Their bodies were
repatriated to Afghanistan.
8 February: A 39-year-old Kurdish man is killed in a gunfight
with
police in Selongey close to Dijon.
4 February: Malek Hassan, a young Sudanese man in his twenties, is found
dead at the junction
between
the A26 and A16 motorways. He was buried in the Calais Nord cemetery on 14
February 2025.
22 January: A 24-year-old Yemeni man, Abdul Raheem Quasem, is found dead on
the Salines beach in Sangatte
He was buried in the cimetière Sud in Lille.
11 January: A 20-year-old Syrian young man, Suliman Alhusien, dies while
attempting to cross
to
the United Kingdom. He was buried on 7th May in Naba Alsakher, in Syria.
7 January: A 33-year-old Kurdish man is found dead beside the A16 motorway
close to Grande-Synthe. He was repatriated to Iraq.
